Lots of things have happened in my life since I last wrote!
I have my first real job (which I actually started on June 11th, but I don't think I said anything about that).
I went to camp, which was amazing. I miss everyone so much.
I went to Nicaragua for two weeks with eight other kids from my school. We stayed in León, which is a pretty cool city. Each morning we drove to Goyena, a village near farmland (sugarcane and peanuts), where we helped build a community center. The project was started by architecture students at the University of San Francisco. We helped out with building trenches for the foundation, then mixing concrete and pouring it to build the foundation. It was pretty hard work, and lots of people ended up with farmer's tans. We also got to know the kids in the village. One girl from the village had a big crush on one of the guys from our group. It was really cute. We got to go to a few discoteques in the city, and the brother and sister in our group won a dance competition against two Nicaraguan couples. It was by applause, so everyone loved them because they were gringos who didn't really know what they were doing. We went swimming in the ocean, where the waves were extremely powerful, and would knock you down if you weren't careful. We got to go sledding/snowboarding down an active volcano Cerro Negro. That was really cool. We also took a tour of these islands in Granada, and got to see some monkeys on this one island. Overall, it was an amazing trip. Gave me quite a bit of perspective on what's important in life.
So I got back from Nicaragua only two days ago. I'm getting back into the swing of normal life. It's kind of weird. I didn't use any technology while I was there, even though there was an internet cafe nearby, and other kids used it. I wanted to stay disconnected while I was there. That definitely worked. Oh, and I didn't bring my iPod, even though lots of kids had theirs. I really was missing my music by the end of the trip. But there were some cool Nicaraguan songs we got to hear, such as Te Amo, which I know the chorus to!
Okay, well I might be getting a cold so I should go to sleep now. Going to see the Chihuly exhibit at the De Young museum tomorrow. Should be amazing, from what I've seen/heard.

(but not my dad; he went home early to start working on his latest welding project, which is sort of a four-wheeled tandem bike). So I'm just hanging out, going to the beach, trying to teach myself precalc, etc.
